Where it is:
La Chiusura is to be found in Apecchio (PU – Marche) – at the edge of the forest of Bocca Serriola, on the confines between the Marche and Umbria, in front of Monte .Nerone, ad a height of 700 metres above sea level.

visit the characteristic historic centre of Apecchio, the Brancaleoni Castle in Piobbico, Città di Castello (Umbria) and the well-known art cities such as Urbania and Urbino.

Nature spots:
In the heart of the Apennines, clearly visibile from Urbino, arise the chalky peaks of the Monte Nerone massif, a wild mountain group which encompass an impressive range of landscapes: meadows, woods, cliffs alternate to create a maze of torrents and waterfalls. Gorges and canyons cut through the steep slopes of this mountain. Fauna of particular scientific interest includes the Great Golden Eagle and the Eurasian Eagle-Owl. Wolves and large-sized ungulates are lords of the forest

Description of the refuge:
The refuge is a splendid rural house built using the local serena stone and is located at the edge of the forest of Bocca Serriola, on the confines between the Marche and Umbria, in front of Monte .Nerone, ad a height of 700 metres above sea level.There are facilities for the physically disabile on the ground floor. The grounds outside consist of 15 hectares of wood and field.

Accomodation details:
The building has 2 multi-purpose rooms for educational purposes and can seat up to 30 people. There are bedrooms with bathrooms. The building is on three floors. The kitchen is suited for organised and self-catering, and the dining room can seat up to 30 people. There is a fireplace in the dining area.

How to get there:
Take the state E 45 road to Città di Castello and then the inter-regional Apecchiese to Apecchio. From Fano take the SP3 highroad to Acqualagna and then the inter-regional Apecchiese to Apecchio. The paved road to the refuge is accessible to cars, people carriers or small coaches (max. 30 places).
